Which USC Frat Has the Hottest Guys?
Issue 012 · October 12, 2026
We’ve all seen the same frat rankings a hundred times. Here’s a simpler question: which house has the best-looking guys?
I scraped 247,659 posts from USC Sidechat, then built a statistical ranking model from the looks comparisons I found.

How I ranked them
Using code and AI-assisted review, I screened 2,555 appearance-related candidates and closely reviewed 1,726 fraternity-related posts. The ranking uses comparisons from August 1, 2025–October 6, 2026. The weighted Bradley–Terry model combines these comparisons while accounting for which houses faced each other.
Weight per comparison
| Whole house | 100% | ||
| Pledge class | 35% | ||
| Selected photos | 12% | ||
Whole-house evidence = 100%. Pledge classes and selected photos receive less weight because they cover narrower slices of a house.
Text posts with higher net vote scores receive more weight as a signal of resonance, with diminishing increases and a cap. More named-house poll selections also increase weight, up to a cap, because they supply more recorded preferences. Poll-post upvotes don’t count. I discount repeated same-day text comparisons and exclude individual-member posts.
How the order changes
I varied the weights, date windows and source rules, then separately checked what happened when each source and each day’s evidence was removed. The chart shows the 20 method settings: darker blocks mean more frequent ranks; red marks show the list above.

Scored evidence: 20 looks comparisons (14 text comparisons and 6 polls, with 2,268 named-house selections). The graph reruns the same evidence; it does not add votes.
Limitations
Anonymous Sidechat posts and polls can include people hyping their own houses, repeat voters and uneven coverage. I weighted explicit looks comparisons and checked the order different ways; this ranks the opinions I found.
Sororities next? I’m tempted. Do I write the rankings or the apology first?
